The annual "Junior Multi-Species" competition took place at the end of August, starting with a few hours fishing at Busbridge Lake, then over to Marsh Farm for the final session.
Historically, girls have been very successful in this event, but this year the competitors were all boys ! So we hope that next year we will see more lads and lasses competing.
The winners with an impressive 23 points ( a point represents a different fish species from each water ) were the pairing of Harvey and Jake. Well done boys. But in a very closely contested event, Rory and Joshua were second with 22 points, just pipping John and Terry in third place with 21 points !
This years winner of the Charity Cup ( and pack of Jelly Beans ) was Joshua, for raising the highest amount for charity. It was good to see the Cup donors, John and Sue Jannaway, as ever supporting the event, with John presenting his Cup and the other awards.
This year the Charity chosen by Andrew Mackenzie was the "Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals", that have provided Andrew with life-saving surgery this year. The total amount raised by the competitors and helpers was £257.14. The day closed with a BBQ for all, thanks to our wonderful volunteers.
