A private lake of some 21 acres in a rural area and owned by the club. This lake is literally the other side of the fence from our Lottery funded new Marsh Farm complex which opened to members in June 2004 and to Day tickets in August 2004. An exceptional mixed fishery and whilst it is well known for its excellent carp fishing, it seems that all species present grow to be specimen fish. Take a good look at the fish to be had in the "Fish stocks" section below.
This lake is also the haunt of many varieties of wildfowl and a number of bird boxes have been installed by my old mate Alan Higgins and his lovely wife Eve during their regular visits. An Osprey was sighted here 5 days running last summer and Black swans regularly pop in for a swim too.
Three years ago we undertook a very ambitious road building project here as access round through the woods was difficult in the extreme due to the numerous springs making the mud knee deep even in the summer. Well, we laid 750 tons of brick rubble, chalk & road planning's using a mixture of machines and work party labour so that it is now possible to walk the lake in trainers and stay clean!
Pictures can be seen of some recent tree work at Johnsons on the FMC page.

Location: Johnson's Lake is in Enton, off Water Lane which is itself off Station Lane, Milford.
Size: 21 acres in a roughly triangular shape surrounded by mature woodlands. It is both stream and spring fed.
No. swims: 43 and many are suitably sized to accommodate 2 anglers comfortably.
Disabled access: the whole of the lake and its surrounds are very flat making it ideally suited to disabled anglers. Several swims have safety bars at the front. There are two parking spaces close to the first swims that are clearly marked with disabled badges. The location of these and the style of the repaired/newer swims were chosen & constructed with the help and guidance of two of our disabled members - one wheelchair bound, the other with a prosthetic arm.
Parking: There are 4 parking areas, 1 immediately inside the gate on the right, 1 directly ahead of you upon entry, the 3rd and largest by far is at the end of the entrance road to your left. The 4th car park is accessed via Marsh Farm and is in the woods giving easy access to what was regarded as the far side of the lake. No parking is permitted in the swims.
Locked gates: Yes - all members are issued with a key.
Toilets on site: Yes. Portaloos are sited in car park 2, 3 & 4.
Map of venue: See above.
Fish stocks: Common carp to 37lbs, Crucian Carp to 4lbs, Mirror Carp to 36lbs, Perch to 3lbs 8oz,Roach to 3lbs 3oz, Rudd to 2lbs 8oz, Tench to 11lbs 8oz.
Recent captures: See bailiffs report section, plus the pair of Alan's beauties below. The top picture (not taken by me I hasten to add) was caught in November I believe around 2.30pm, weighing in at 29lbs 8oz and the other was a late summer fish in the mid twenties.
