Feeder was the order of the day with three of the top four using it to combat the high winds on the day.

As there were only fourteen entries for the pairs match we decided to run a straight individual match instead. Eddie on peg 30 feeder'ed his way to a win in the strong winds, Brian fished the short pole from 28 for second. Roy on 13 pole fished worm for third and Phil on 9 was fourth.

The run of diminishing match weights continues at Johnsons with Eddie winning from peg 35 with mainly Rudd. Perry on 17 had four fish for second. Dave on 6 was third and Brian in the woods on 29 was fourth. There was much disquiet at the end with the continued fish removals at Johnsons turning the water into a specimen Carp water.

There were several anglers on an away day from Willow and Gold this week and two of them cleaned up today.
Ian on the current hot peg 18  comfortably won wit a mixed bag of Tench, Crucians and Carp on chop worm and caster  Chris on peg one fished the long pole for second narrowly beating Phil on end peg 26 and Stevo on 15

Alan on Peg 36 won this one on the feeder with Chop worm and caster from Brian on 24 at the top end of the lake using similar tactics.
Frank and Trevor on the other side on 9 & 11 were fish for fish on pellet for 3^rd and fourth.

Two cold nights did for the weekend fishing with all but Eddie struggling for bites. Eddie on peg 25 caught on the tip and waggler taking bream to 3lb. Charlie opposite on 8 caught  three bream on the tip and Roy on 23 had two bream on the tip also.

There is no stopping the “Trentman “ at the moment, this week Ken paired with his mate Dave Allport, Dave had 7.10.0 from the Bridge swim in Firs and Ken had 3.6.0 from 75 in Upper common.

Second pair Adrian on ”The Bowling Green” in Upper common had 6.0.0 and Graham below the Barge in Firs had 4.2.0.

Best individual weight on the day went to Colin Underwood with 9 6.0 from 61 in Salgasson.

The fish showed at the “wrong end” of the lake again with “Trent man" Ken taking a comfortable win from peg 16, catching Skimmers and bream from the off.

Nick on adjacent peg 16 was second with a similar catch from Perry on the Dam wall peg 3. Roy wrapped up the winter league just pipping his closest rival Andy Rogers for fourth place.

This rescheduled Christmas match on the river was well attended with 38 taking part. Paul on the much fancied “Privet Bush” made no mistake and had a comfortable win with Perch and Chub. Brian behind Sainsbury’s in lower Common on 87 had a similar bag on the Lobby but included a Chub of 5.4.0. Adrian Johnson in Firs Bridge peg 99 had two large chub for third, Charlie on the Bridge swim in lower peg 84 was fourth and Karl Taylor on peg 92 had a single Carp for fifth.

Many thanks go to Dave Woolgar for the pegging, Dave Carter for the Flowers and Mainly John and Val Percy who organized all the prizes and the Raffle as well all contributing to a great day out.

Finally it was nice to see Peter Stevens out “chauffeuring” his Grandson Nick.

Colin on peg 63 won the day on the stick float trotting into the bend taking Chub and bits. Perry on the Sandbar 50 took second. Roy drew 61 for the second time running and found a Bream plus a small chub and bits for third with Frank on 55 fourth.

On this the penultimate round of the winter league Andy Rogers took a big leap towards the to putting himself just within reach of long time leader Roy Fiander. with a good win on Punch setting up a final round decider at Busbridge on 6^th March. Indeed GAS anglers took the top 4 places.

Roy on 61 in Salgasson leered lobs for three Chub. Hector on Lower common Iona swim has two Chub and several Perch for second.
Andy on the join in lower common was third and Chris on 65 in Salgasson took fourth.

Andy on end peg 35 trounced the field completely fishing the waggler and maggot to take Skimmers and Roach, Ken next door on 36  had Roach and Parch for a distant second as did Jim and Roger on 9 and42 respectively.

As this Guildford Open memorial match was not in the Guildford calendar this year and also not booked with the National Trust we ran the open on a Godalming AS water instead at Firs Bridge.
Roy on the bridge swim 7 had two late Chub to add to his bag of dace for a comfortable win. Jason on the barge swim 2 had several large Perch with his dace, Roger on 20 in the Colonels Ground had an all Dace catch with Perry on 19 taking two big Perch and a few bits for fourth.

A biting North Easterly gale was the order of the day with sporadic rain throughout as well making this a difficult day and the weights reflected that.
Roy on fancied end peg113 made no mistake catching Carp and Tench on the pole and corn from the end of the causeway. Mark on 106 was second the pole caught carp and Bream. Andy on 131 had a pole caught mainly Tench catch with Richard on 112 taking fourth

This was the last summer league match and was won by Roger on peg 14 with a bag of Bream, Crusians and Roach on the waggler and pole.
Garath ensured the summer league title with a fine second place drom peg 11. Roy on 21 was third andChris on 12  fourth.

Ian fished the Method on 29 for a mixed bag on Tench and Crucians and Skimmers. Gordon on 33 had a similar bag on the pole. John on 40 was third with Frank on 19 fourth.

The “Thousands of nuisance Tench to 2.5 lbs” along with the small carp mysteriously disappeared on match day again with very poor results being posted.

As the removal rate & size increases is stepped up so the match weights are consistently dropping away

Gordon on 29 won the day with a Rudd catch, Andy on 32 also had a small fish catch for second. Andy on 3 had Roach and Rudd for third as did Dave Lake.

Consistent Paul won again from peg 6 in front of the Island with Pellet & bags. Luke on the point was second using similar tactics. Eddie on peg was third and Vic from Twyford on the Oaks was fourth.

Gareth is on fire at the moment and once again blitzed the opposition from peg 12 taking Bream and Tench on the feeder and pole. Paul on peg 7 feeder'd his way to second, narrowly pipping Mark opposite on 41. Eddie on 10 was fourth.

Paul always takes some beating on Broadwater and despite having three of his kids in tow he blitzed the field again for the peg I blanked on last time, 26 near the road bank bamboos.

Steve around the corner on the Oaks peg 27 was second, with Paul C on peg 12 and Phil on 25 fourth

Gareth won again on the Chicken bank peg 21 with a mixed bag of Tench and Crucians and included a 15.8.0 Dink in his catch.
Eddie on 28 was a close second with a similar catch. Gordon Stevenson on railway bank 14 was third and Chris on 30 was fourth.

Unfortunately three competitors fell foul of the fishery net limits of 50lb per net with a 10lb leeway, but the top four was not affected.
The fishery manager who watched most of the weigh in insisted the weights be adjusted with weights over 60lb in any one net being reduced to 60lb.
Lee had a late run on the pellet waggler to win from peg 62 with Carp and Barbel. Paul on end peg 90 was second with a similar catch.
Giovani on 59 was third and Roger on 84 was fourth and included a 5lb Barbel in his catch.

This was the best result at Broadwater for some time with five 100 plus weights. Dave to the right of the point on 30 won with a fabulous weight of 203, Shaun on 32 the point was second, Paul was on the road bank on 23 and Steve was on the rugby bank 6. All fished pellet and bags.

Our annual early starter was a grueller this year with temperatures reaching 31c that left the railway bank competitors cooking in the sun.
First with a mixed bag of Crucians, Tench and Rudd was Garath on peg 4 by the lily pad. second was Dave on 27 on the chicken bank with an all Rudd Roach catch, Roy on the Pin 32 also had a Rudd catch for 3rd and Colin on 16 was fourth with a Tench bag.

As this was the hottest day of the year so far and the footie was on we decided to stop early at 2pm Perry on 64 had a bag of Perch and Dace, Richard on 55 ha a similar bag of small fish as did Frank and Chris on 63 and 58+

Eddie got back to winning ways on our first ever visit to the Ribbon Lake, fishing peg 10 with pellet and corn he took  small Barbel Tench and Crucians throughout the day. Roger on peg 15 fished punched meat for a bag of Barbel Tench and Skimmers on the pole. Mark on peg 4 had a late run to nick third with a similar catch from Roy on 12.

The lake fished well at the dam end with all the winning weights coming from the deeper water mainly to the feeder and caster. Chris on peg 7 alternated between feeder,lead and waggler as did Paul on 10.

Dennis fished a straight lead over caster on 8 and Dave on 42 fished feeder and waggler.

Andy fished corn on the waggler on peg 14 for a comfortable victory from Lol on 16 and John on 13. Charlie in 12 rounded off the winners. No guesses as to where all the fish were.-
